I have got to know about the vacant position for Human Resource Officer at Avery Hill Campus from the website of Google on 12-01-2022. The reason of applying for this job position is that I have the experience of two years while working as a fulltime Human Resource Intern. This job has honed my skills to manage professionals and carry out tasks that are required from the HR personnel in a firm. I have completed my bachelor’s degree in the field of Business Administration. I have also possessed the degree of advanced diploma in data processing that could help me to manage all the activities related to IT and keeping records in computer files. Therefore, I feel that I would be an ideal candidate for this job opening.
I have completed my computer training in data processing during the period of 2013 – 2014 and I have done my schooling from Ideal Nursing and Primary School, Abuja during the period of 1998 – 2004. I have received various certificates and got enrolled into various training sessions or workshops. In 2019, I have received the training on sensitization Drugs and drugs prevention. Also, I got enrolled in the course of United Nations i.e. Basic Security in the field and advanced security in the field. For two years (2014 - 2016) I have worked as an IT instructor in Bethany Information System Academy where I have trained candidates about MS Office and developed computer hardware and software engineering skills among them which involved repairs, installation and networking.
I have been working as an Administrative Assistant in Betsam Global Resource Ltd. Garki Ahuja and therefore I have gained a lot of skills about managing multiple tasks effectively and efficiently by setting up the priorities. I possess excellent accuracy in organizational skills and have the capability of focusing on delivering high-quality services to the customers. I have the potential to work in groups and collaborate with other experienced HR managers to manage complex situations. Other than this, I have the knowledge of HR databases and e-recruitment systems. Some advanced computer/ IT skills which are being possessed by me include MS Excel, MS Power Point, MS Word, Publishing, System Maintenance and Networking/ ICT.
I am looking forward to work as the Human Resource Officer because I believe that I have the capability of all the duties and responsibilities associated with this job role. Also, I possess advanced knowledge of databases; IT and networking that could offer wide range of benefits to the organization. I have the experience of managing complex task related to HRM like maintaining the salary records, preparing salary slips, conducting exit interviews, developing policies and implementing them across the organisation, and many more. It would be a great pleasure for me to possess advanced skills and enhance my level of professionalism while working in your organization as I want to work for such challenging position in a well-reputed organization which could lead me towards excellence.

I have identified some important employability skills which are necessary to be developed for performing the job roles and responsibilities of Human Resource Officer with greater efficiency and effectiveness. While studying for this course, I have learned that employability skills are highly valued by the business employers in terms of enhancing the interaction among team members and the efficiency at which the tasks are being managed. Some essential employability skills that are required to be developed by me in order to become the Human Resource Office include business awareness, effective communication, creativity skills, planning, critical thinking, team work skills and leadership skills (Jackson, 2015).
The course which I am currently pursuing has helped me in realizing about the greater importance of working in groups and teams and some favorable strategies by which all the identified employability skills can be developed, suitably and appropriately. Some of those strategies include attending the formal business meetings, collaborating with business managers, increasing learning about verbal and non-verbal communication techniques, setting up the priorities relating to tasks, exploring innovative ideas and taking responsibilities to perform and accomplish challenging tasks (Gowsalya and Kumar, 2015).
Apart from gaining learning and knowledge about employability skills through the course, I have also watched various You Tube videos and read the online articles regarding the effective ways for enhancing communication skills and the approaches to enhance critical thinking skills. While watching the You Tube videos, I have further read and critically reviewed the recently published journal articles and e-books for gaining in-depth knowledge about all the determined employability skills. I have further improved the time management skills while studying for the course by the way of completing all the assignments before the deadlines or targeted dates (Jackson, 2015).
I have decided to strengthen my employability skills so that I could become a professional Human Resource manager in any of the leading multinational organizations. I would focus on developing employee relations for improving communication skills and managing customer services. In addition to this, I will learn to use the Human Resource Information Software for tracking the performances and growth of each employee and demonstrating the success of implemented HR policies and HR practices. From this essay, it can be concluded that the initial level of skills has greatly improved and enhanced as initially I possessed various IT skills and at the final level, I have developed various other employability skills along with IT skills.
I believe that the development of all the above employability skills would greatly help me to succeed in my professional career and manage the behavior as well as the attitudes of all the employees possessing different cultural backgrounds. I would become highly capable of managing daily tasks and improving my overall productivity level through developing confidentiality and adaptability skills (Gowsalya and Kumar, 2015). Also, these employability skills will help me to contribute towards the organizational success and enable it to attain the competitive edge by formulating the HR policies with respect to the latest technological trends.
In this video, I want to tell you the core reason of recruiting me i.e. I never stop learning as I believe that learning is a continuous process. Even after possessing different kinds of skills in the field of IT and administration; I have developed suitable plans for improving the employability skills that could lead me towards professionalism and sustainable growth. For performing the job roles and responsibilities of the applied position, I have developed suitable plans for improving employability skills of communication, critical thinking, problem solving, etc. Another reason which increases my chance of getting recruited is that the University of Greenwich is seeking for an experienced HR Recruitment Office and I have the experience of managing tasks relating to Human Resource Administration. I am passionate about achieving my personal goals along with considering the attainment of organizational goals and possess a clear commitment towards diversity, equality and inclusion.
