He was suffering from dementia; at initial stage I was not able to communicate with Mr Jane as he was not responding to my questions and I thought I would not be to develop therapeutic alliance. However, I have discussed everything with my mentor and based on the mentor guidance, I started to undertake communication with Mr Jane. I have consistently communicated with Mr Jane; I asked him about his interest and family members. Patient started to share details related to his hobbies and family members. This is how I started developing mutual connection with implementing effective communication. Nurse-patient communication is an important element in clinical setting as this complies with understanding patient requirement and further supports in developing mutual understanding (Taylor and Flaherty, 2024). Thus, I will use this skill in future specifically for developing bond with patient and colleagues. Hence, I can say that I got the opportunity to enhance my communication skills.

Writing skills is considered as one of the important skills that support scholars throughout their learning procedure (Burns and Sinfield, 2022). It supports in expressing ideas in written form and further enhances writing capabilities. During this module I have received varied assignments which enhanced my writing skills. Ai initial stage, I was not able to make sentence in appropriate manner, I had varied errors related to punctuation and Grammer and due to this I was not able to get good marks. I have discussed this thing with my tutor and she told me that I must proofread my work before final submission. This habit supported me to higher extent as I have become able to witness own errors in writing and this resulted in reducing errors in the assignment. Further, I have focused on enhancing basic writing skills which associates with spelling, keyboarding, sentence structure and Capitalisation. This enabled me to prepare my assignment in effective manner (Cottrell, 2024). However, I will further focus on this skill as this is essential while interacting with patient in clinical setting. While maintaining record-keeping and documentation of patient, writing skill is essential and therefore, I will consistently practice in this area so that I can get effectual results in future.

Numeracy skill refers to the ability of working with numbers along with using statistical and mathematical formula for a specific purpose (Shokirovch, 2022). I am still lacking in this area and therefore, I need to develop significant focus on this area. Numeracy skill supports in building confidence and competence while using maths as a part of nursing role. It improves practical knowledge related to day-to-day work activities Furthermore, sound math skills prove to be essential for the provision of safe nursing care. Moreover, this skill will support me in undertaking quantitative research in nursing area. I will focus on doing math, I will further take help from math tutor and accordingly, I will solve different numerical. I will try to understand the concept behind each numerical method and this significantly improves my understanding and supports my numeracy skill. The contextual information is clearly depicting that I need to focus on enhancing my numeracy skills so that I can become able to use this ability in future projects and at workplace. Thereby, I will take help from math tutor and further I am going to solve numerical by own.

Another skill which requires to be enhanced comprised with digital technology; this is one of the most prominent skills that supports scholar to gain wider benefits and further promotes their learning to greater extent (González-Pérez and Ramírez-Montoya, 2022). However, I am able to use online platform but still I want to improve this skill. During this module, I have made Power point presentation, poster and word file through online platform which supported me to gain this skill. Through online platform I have focused on enhancing my researching skill and I will continue to improve this skill so that I can effectively use digital technologies for completing my assignment in future. Digital skills foster creativity, collaboration, access to information, communication and critical thinking. Thus, by improving digital skill I can enhance all of these associated skills. Furthermore, this skill will support in my career, for providing effective and safe nursing care to patient digital literacy and information communication technology is important. By using digital skills, I would be able to fill data and further this support in making intervention plan. Therefore, I will focus on enhancing this skill and therefore, I will ensure focus on attending workshops related to enhancing digital skill. I will use different software such as NVivo and SPSS for conducting research, this enhances my ability in terms of working on digital platform.

I have taken part in varied group discussion and individual presentation; these activities provided me opportunities in terms of presenting myself. I can say that, I have effectively presented my opinion and this further led to enhance my self-esteem to greater note. Lack of presentation skill directly impacts self-esteem and confidence level and I have realised this aspect in my own experience. At initial stage, I used to fear in terms of presenting my thoughts and opinions. After taking participation in different group discussions, I have become able to present my thoughts and opinions in front of everyone (Brown et al, 2021). This led to enhance my confidence to grater extent and further made me able to focus on certain areas that requires improvement. Henceforth, I can say that I have received significant opportunity related to enhancing own personal and professional development. This will support me in terms of presenting own thoughts in front of team members and I would be able in terms of developing significant collaboration. Thus, in this manner I can build effectual interaction with everyone and subsequently, significant outcomes could be gained.

Reflection skill is crucial for identifying own strength and areas of improvement, by writing reflection and maintaining reflective journals scholar can easily identify regarding the certain area which are requires to be focused out (Gómez-Urquiza et al, 2022). In this module I have completed reflective assignment and this supported me in analysing own strengths and further I have used these strengths while improving my weaknesses. I will continue to write reflection so I can assess own efficacy and appropriate decision regarding areas of improvement can be taken. My core motive is to develop significant understanding regarding contextual components which are important for gaining effectual results. I have maintained a reflective journal and I write about own experience and subsequently, areas of improvement have been witnessed.

Based on the above analysis, I can say that I have received an effective opportunity in terms of developing varied study skills that are important in terms of gaining personal and professional development. I am going to use this skill in future at my workplace and accordingly, effective care services will be provided to patient. Further, these skills support me in progressing within academic context and accordingly, I will be able to complete my project and research in effective manner. Moreover, will focus on improving my writing and digital skills so that I can gain effective outcomes.

Conclusion

Conclusively; I can say that this module has provided me significant opportunities in terms of undertaking personal and professional development. I have got the opportunity for enhancing communication, writing, presentation and reflection skills. However, I need to ensure focus on improving digital technology and numeracy skills so that I can improve my future practices in the role of nurse. This will further support me in terms of providing effectual care services to patient.
