  • Communication: One of my strength is effective communication skill.   • Technical proficiency: One of weakness is lack of proficiency in using technology, computer programs, automation tools and software results in impacting to efficiency work as senior manager.   • Career advancement: I have opportunities towards better career advancement with the help of my strengths of communication, strategic-thinking, leadership, change management. With reference to this strength I able to progress in my career in terms of promotion, taking new responsibility as well as grow towards the top managerial roles.

Threats:

  • Lack of required skill: The lack of skill in regards to technical, time-management and attention to detail skill act as a threat for me to efficiently perform the role of senior management proficiently. Apart from this, the technical skill is one of the main requirements for the all job roles. This lack of skill act as a threat for me in a significant manner.
  • High competition: The field is attractive and fascinated as a result there is an intensive competition. It acts as a threat to grab better job opportunities in a competitive as well as dynamic environment.
  • Economic fluctuation: The economic fluctuation also acts as a threat for me to secure my job effectively and efficiently. In time of depression, company runs its business with several challenges in terms of lack of sales and revenue. This leads to directly impacts workforce as due to lack of profits, organization start laying off (Lu and Lin, 2021). Hence, it acts as a big threat.

P4 Range of learning theories and approaches related to personal and professional development

In context to personal and professional development, skills, competences, approaches and development can be enhanced using several learning theories as well as approaches by organizations and individuals. Being in the role of senior manager, for personal and professional development of mine, I can use a social learning theory. According to the theory, an individual learn things skill and abilities in a social environment where individual imitate and observe the behavior of others to learn things and different concepts (Chuang, 2021). Social learning theory outlines that an individual can learn things by observe others, work in collaboration with others, mentorship, role modeling and so more. In support with the theory, I can learn via observing experts, co-workers and other professional, allows developing in personal as well as professional manner. For instance, to improve the skill of time-management, the theory plays an important role. Observing and social interaction helps in learn the way other manage their time, it leads to enable in practice the same, result in learning skill in the best manner.

In addition, cognitive learning theory can also use for develop personally and professionally. The learning theory helps the learner to actively use their brain to construct the long-lasting learning. According to the theory, the learner gain skills, abilities and knowledge via using fundamental aspect such as comprehension, memory, application. The use of learning theory allows the learners to effectively engage with new information via relating to the existing knowledge. It helps in provide deeper and more impactful understanding of the concept and knowledge (Hadi, 2022). The theory based on the experience of learning, referring to it the learner able to recycle as well as use the same learning methods with which they worked previously. This approach leads to helps the individual to learn things rapidly and faster.

Moreover, behavioral approach is considered as one of the best approach used for providing learning. The approach based on the idea that an individual respond to stimuli in their environment. In this, the role of learning facilitator consist furnishing useful as well as relevant stimuli so that learners able to effectively responds to and attain required knowledge and experience (Markovsky and Dörfler, 2021). One of the focal point in behavioral approach of learning is that an appropriate behavior can be taught via the continuous repetition of task with a feedback from the facilitator. A positive feedback is result of motivating and reinforcing success while a negative feedback leads to discouraging the repetition of a mistake. This leads to result in a personal as well as professional development of the learner effectively and efficiently.

Beside this, for personal and professional development process, a VARK learning style theory can also use. There are four kind of learning style such as visual, auditory, reading & writing as well as kinesthetic (VARK Learning Styles, 2025). According to the theory, Different styles cab be used to provide knowledge and acquainted the individual with the new skills and abilities. In support with the model, in terms of visual learning style, an individual learn efficiently by observing and visualize things. For instance, to develop the weak area the individual for performing role of senior manager can learn thing and gain knowledge by observing others. In context to auditory style, the learners learn via listening instruction and discussion. In such case, instruction-led training can be use for efficient personal and professional development. In terms of learning style of reading/writing, several individual learn via written material. Referring to this style, a written guidance provided to the learners or professional to provide better understanding. However I find some opportunities in regards to personal and professional and threat due to some skills are weak. In addition, one of the best development approach to enhance my personal and professional skill for the senior manager role is social learning approach where I able to learn the lack area via social interaction and observing others.

For the job role of senior manager the employer expectation for professional skills are high as organization requires a individual with good communication, decision-making, change management, technology proficiency, time-management ability. In reference to the SWOT analysis, it is evaluated to meet the employer expectation, I have competent skills line communication, leadership, strategic-thinking (Brugmann, 2021). However, I lack of technical proficiency make difficult for me to use different software, technical tools and technique to perform my role effectively.
